The Heckler name has been part of our brand since 1995, and as such shoulders a substantial burden when it comes to brand reputation. No problem. These days, the Heckler represents no-nonsense single pivot all-mountain performance at a wallet friendly price. Offering 150mm of travel via a burly aluminum frame, the Heckler features the same angular contact bearings and oversize alloy pivot axles as our VPP® bikes, and has an aggressive contemporary geometry that slays rough and steep terrain with confidence. New for this year there's an ISCG05 chainguide mount, and a tapered headtube.

What size tire will fit in the Heckler?

2.5" is about the max.

What size shock does the Heckler use?

8.5" x 2.5" (216x 63mm)
The mounting hardware is 22mm wide with an 8mm through hole.

What size fork should I use on the Heckler?

Anything between 140mm and 160mm is ideal. 140mm forks will give the bike a more xc feel, with quicker handling and lighter weight. Using a 160mm fork will have a more “all mountain" feel and a more confidence inspiring ride on technical trails.

What size headset does the Heckler use?

1 1/8"

What size seatpost do I need?

The Heckler uses a 30.9mm seatpost. Make sure it is always inserted a minimum of 4" (100mm)

What size seat collar do I need for the Heckler?

34.9mm (supplied with frame)

What size front derailleur do I need?

A shimano 34.9 top swing/ top pull. Anything but saint should do the job

What size BB do I need?

The Heckler uses a 73mm bottom bracket shell, and a 50-51mm chainline. Pretty much any of the newer external bottom bracket cranks will mount up without issue. The Truvativ stylo and shimano Deore XT are our favorites. If you are using an ISIS setup, you need a 73x113mm bottom bracket.

What size rotor can I use?

We recommend a 160mm or 185mm rotor, but a 203 will fit in there if you wish.

What kind of chainguide will fit?

Our favorites are the E-thirteen guides (LG1, STS, DRS) and Gamut models. There are no ISCG mounts on the Heckler, so you will need an ISCG adaptor or a bb mount guide.

What kind of rear hub do I need for the Heckler?

Any standard 135x10mm hub will do the trick.
